Brakebush Brothers, Inc., a family-owned and operated chicken products processor, wants to reduce equipment downtime and maintain profitability for its production facilities dispersed across the United States while adhering to USDA incidental food contact regulations. The Clarion team, along with Condon Oil, recommended changing to a fully synthetic NSF H1-registered fluid used for food processing plants.
The Clarion Lubricants experts worked with Brakebush and advised them to switch to Clarion® CompressorGard® 68, a fluid that meets the requirements of U.S. FDA regulation 21 CFR 178.3570 for incidental food contact. This oil is recommended for rotary screw and vane compressors in poultry processing plants and offers superior protection against wear, rust, corrosion and deposits. It also has a very low pour point and high-temperature stability, making it an ideal choice for a wide temperature range.
After making the change, Brakebush experienced no foaming on wear items like shaft seals, longer-lasting conveyor motors and less frequent water changes. The fully synthetic fluid effectively separates from water without leaving it milky and provides equipment with a longer service life. Since using the product, they've never had to change out the oil.
Brakebush has trusted Clarion Lubricants for its food production line for many years. As a result, even in the event of an equipment malfunction or shaft seal leakage, Brakebush knows that its food products are safe for consumption with Clarion® CompressorGard® 68.
A U.S. family-owned and operated chicken processor since 1925, Brakebush manages a dedicated team across five production facilities working to make the highest quality chicken served in foodservice kitchens, national chains and as industrial ingredients.
