Privacy Policy

Clarion Lubricants' privacy policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our users.  This policy statement tells you how we collect information from you, and how we use it.  Using the Internet should be a fun experience, and we want to help you make it so.

Please note that Clarion Lubricants sites may allow you to link to a wide variety of other sites.  We do not control how these other sites gather and use information about their users.  We encourage you to review the privacy policies of all sites you link to from our sites.

What information does Clarion Lubricants collect?  How do we use it?

When you provide your information to us, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number and the card's expiration date.  This allows us to process transactions and to notify you of follow up information related to your participation, inquiry or transaction.

When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may ask for your name, address, and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.  We may also ask you optional questions.  These questions are not used to identify you personally, but are used in the aggregate to help us better understand our users and improve our products, programs or services.

As part of our registrations, memberships and shopping processes, we give you the opportunity to decline to receive e-mails from Clarion Lubricants.  In addition, if you initially choose to receive our mailings, but then later change your mind, we provide instructions with our e-mails on how to unsubscribe to our e-mail program.

What about "cookies"?

"Cookies" are small text files that are stored on your computer.  Web site programs, such as an online ordering system, create these text files to record information about your preferences.  Our online ordering system, for example, needs to create these text files to record the items you add to your shopping cart.  Most cookies expire after a certain time period.  Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent this from occurring.

Will Clarion Lubricants disclose the information it collects to outside parties?

No.  Clarion Lubricants will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent.

Clarion Lubricants may share aggregate information about our users with business partners, sponsors and other third parties.  For example, we may say Clarion Lubricants' audience is x percent females and y percent males.  This data is used to customize Clarion Lubricants content and promotions to deliver a better experience for our users.  Clarion Lubricants may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Clarion Lubricants' rights or property, other Clarion Lubricants Web site users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities.  Clarion Lubricants may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

How does Clarion Lubricants protect customer information?

Safe technology:  Our secure server software (SSL) is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions.  It encrypts all of your financial information, including credit card information, so it can't be read as the information travels over the Internet.  In order for SSL security to work, you must use an SSL-enabled browser.  For more information about SSL, see Netscape's web site.

Policies for kids & teens (individuals under 18 years of age)
